Background to Sky High RC

The Haley family have been involved in aeromodelling since the 1950's with my father Bill competing in all three classes of team racing, at national league level, narrowly missing out on team selection for the 1958 Class-A world championships. Following a spell racing motorbikes (350cc Manx Norton's) Bill returned to aeromodelling and joined the Teesside MFC, learning to fly RC slope soarers with home-built radio, quickly progressing to flying RC thermal soaring.

This is when I (Steve) arrived on the scene and from a very early age, I was fascinated with balsa model aircraft and started RC flying at the local slopes around the NE of England. I entered my first thermal soaring competition at age ten at the 1978 Barcs Radio glide championships, flying the very successful Neville Mattingly's 100-inch Phoenix design. I have been hooked on aeromodelling ever since and have flown many World Championships in both F3B and F5J glider classes. My son, Simon, is third generation team Haley learning to fly, competing in F3B and now Simon is flying F5J classes at a world championship level.

Even though our current 4m competition gliders are of fully composite construction, I have always had an interest in traditional balsa construction and being a time-served injection mould, Toolmaker I have always enjoyed manufacturing.

I have a deep-rooted passion for all classes of aeromodelling and my objective with Sky High RC is to both promote traditional model building and the longevity of our great hobby.

Items like pushrods, fuel tanks, fuel tubing, and wheels. Those can be purchased at your local model shop, or one of the many reputable online dealers. We don't include these items because we have found builders are very loyal to a brand, or type of hardware - very rarely using something different. So regardless of what we would include, there's a very good chance that the builder would substitute alternate hardware.

Our boxes do not include hinges, control horns, any screws, as well as any bolts, dowels, and/or rubber bands needed to attach the wing(s).
No landing gear will be included along with, wheel collars w/set screws, as well as any gear straps and screws that are needed for that particular kit.
If the has struts, the struts, as well as the nuts, bolts, and straps needed to attach them are not included.
If the model has a thermo-formed canopy or windshield, or it has clear windows, those are not included and no covering materials.
