'Tom Thumb II' ~ 26" span ~ Laser-cut parts set

Note: This is not a complete kit. A plan is not included, and additional materials are required to complete the model.

Tom Thumb was originally designed by Vic Smeed (22" span) and featured in Aeromodeller as a free plan. Andrew Boddington later enlarged it. (scaled up from the 22” 1954 original to 26”). By request, these are done in 1.5mm balsa rather than the 0.8mm used in the original.

  • 3 x Fin parts are laminated from 1.5mm balsa for speed and cost.

  • 7 x Formers cut in quality 1.5mm balsa & 3mm liteply

  • 4 x fuselage side pieces cut in 1.5mm balsa

  • 2x dihedral brace cut in quality 1.5mm birch ply

  • No plan included. This is not a complete kit but many parts are provided
