A simple yet elegant 4-foot wingspan glider, perfect for radio-controlled slope soaring.

This model holds a special place in my heart — I first learned to fly RC gliders with this very design back in the 1970s, when I was seven. It was originally designed by our good friend Jim Osborne from the Teesside club for single-channel radio. Jim kindly gave my dad his original Wizard of Oz, which we later converted to 2-channel so I could learn to fly RC models on our local Cleveland hills.

A classic piece of RC glider history, the Wizard of Oz combines simplicity, nostalgia, and excellent flying characteristics, making it ideal for collectors or anyone who appreciates vintage slope-soaring models.
